Dementia Care

Our Dementia Care provides assistance and support for residents struggling with cognitive impairment. Dementia support services provide individualized and specific assistance and emotional support for residents and their families. Services include fun and intellectual brain fitness activities that focus on a holistic approach to wellness.

Our care for residents who are experiencing dementia includes a staff who have been trained in dementia care through educational programs and certification.  They include all of the Nursing Staff, Social Workers, Activities Leaders, Registered Dietitians , Pastoral Care Staff  and all other ancillary personnel who take an interdisciplinary approach to care, which allows residents to enjoy cognitive, recreational, social, and spiritual support at all levels of function. We maintain a robust calendar of activities, many of which are developed to address the particular needs of these residents.

Our Dementia residents benefit from our “Love Made Visible” program which offers various activities for the resident throughout the day and evening.  We do things to create a special environment an environment that calms resident behaviors and improves our resident’s quality of live.

We want our residents to do as much as they can do as possible but not so much that they get agitated or confused.  We have designed our special care program to meet the specific needs of these special people so that they are safe and comfortable.  Play Music Easier for our residents to understand and easier for our residents to hear. Songs from our resident’s youth when they were happier and healthier, designed to keep our residents more relaxed

Our Speech Therapy department can also help with cognition rehabilitation.
